Jeanne M. Kvale is a partner with Lowthorp Richards. She was born in La Cañada, California and now resides in Ventura.
Jeanne practices in the areas of estate planning, probate and trust litigation, tax and business planning, probate and trust administration and conservatorship law.
Jeanne graduated Occidental College with a major in philosophy and earned her Juris Doctorate cum laude from Pepperdine University School of Law. While at Pepperdine, Jeanne served as an Editor of the Pepperdine Law Review and was a member of the Moot Court Board.
Jeanne is admitted to practice in the United States District Court, Central District of California as well as the State Bar of California. She has represented clients in the Superior Courts of Ventura, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, Santa Maria, San Luis Obispo and Sacramento as well as the United States Bankruptcy Court.
Jeanne assists clients in preparing estate planning documents and advising regarding various tax planning matters. She works closely with private professional fiduciaries and family members in establishing and managing conservatorships, probate matters and trust administrations. Jeanne counsels clients on trusts, wills, gifting, insurance trusts and Medi-Cal planning.
Jeanne represents clients in conservatorship proceedings and is familiar with the process to obtain court authority in designating a conservator of the person and/or estate of an incapacitated adult. She drafts special needs trusts for clients who want to protect and provide for family members and loved ones while maintaining eligibility for public assistance benefits.
Jeanne Kvale is a member of the Board of Directors of the ARC of Ventura County whose main objective is to provide services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Ms. Kvale was elected as an officer and member of the executive committee of the ARC of Ventura County.
Jeanne is a professor of Professional Responsibility at Ventura and Sant Barbara Colleges of Law. Jeanne has also served as a faculty member for the Paralegal Program at the University of California Santa Barbara Extension for over 15 years, where she taught Real Estate Law, Ethics, Case Management and Wills and Trusts. Jeanne was also an adjunct professor of Estate Planning at the graduate program of California Lutheran University School of Business.
Jeanne is an active member of the Ventura County Bar Association, having served as a member of the Board of Directors in 2005 and 2006. She is currently a member of Ventura Women Lawyers, and she was a past President of Santa Barbara Women Lawyers in 2000-2001.
Jeanne lives in Ventura with her husband. They have one son.
