Ben started his career in the law after helping his family grow its medical practice to the largest of its kind in the country, and in so doing, Ben nurtured a passion for helping others overcome complicated challenges. Over time, it became clear to Ben that a law degree was a logical next step for him. In 2014, he started night school at the Ventura College of Law while he worked his day job as the CFO of his family’s medical practices.
During his time in law school, Ben received awards for academic excellence in criminal law and procedure, legal writing, professional responsibility, and constitutional law. He also clerked for a Ventura County Superior Court Judge and made dozens of appearances as a certified law student on behalf of his clients in the Mental Health Court. In January 2018, he graduated as salutatorian of his class and passed the California State Bar in June of that year. Ben was in the 98th percentile for his performance on the national ethics exam.
After a brief stint practicing immigration law, Ben concluded assisting people with resolving civil disputes was his new passion so he joined Lowthorp Richards in February 2019 to practice civil litigation. Ben is a member of the California State Bar and the Central Coast District Court Bar.
Growing up in Ventura, Ben was a scholar athlete and team captain for Saint Bonaventure High School football team. He then achieved the same honors playing football at Claremont McKenna College. Following college, Ben and his wife, Beth, lived in Buenos Aires, Argentina and Santiago, Chile where they taught English and traveled throughout the continent. Ben speaks and writes proficiently in Spanish and speaks Portuguese conversationally. Ben and Beth have a daughter and a son and live in Ventura.
