Ted Muegenburg helps families and business owners design estate and succession plans built around their specific goals — and then, when the time comes, carries those plans through to completion. Many attorneys stop at the signing table. Ted and the estate and trust lawyers in his firm Lowthorp Richards LLP, do both: sophisticated plan design on the front end, and full trust and estate administration on the back end, so the plan his clients built is the plan that actually gets executed for their families.

Ted is a California State Bar Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law and is rated “AV” — the highest rating awarded — by Martindale-Hubbell. Over more than four decades of practice, he has worked with clients whose estates range from straightforward family plans to complex holdings exceeding $500 million, navigating the tax and state law rules that govern how wealth transfers from one generation to the next. He works closely with each client’s accountant, financial advisor, and insurance advisor, because he believes the best results come from coordinated teamwork, not a plan built in isolation.

Ted measures success by outcome, not paperwork: a plan is only well done if it strengthens his clients’ families and the community they care about. He holds a BA in Business – Economics from Claremont McKenna College and a law degree from UC Hastings College of Law. He and his wife Dale have lived in Ventura since 1964 and raised their four children there. Ted serves on the Board of Trustees of Community Memorial Hospital and has been active for decades with Rotary Club of Ventura East and the Ventura County Bar Association, where he founded the Estate and Probate Law Section.
