Ben started his career in the law after growing his family’s medical practice to the largest of its kind in the country. Ben’s passion for overcoming challenges allowed him tonavigate the nuances of the private sector without the help of a lawyer. As the challenges facing his family’s practice became more complex, however, Ben realized he needed to become a lawyer. In 2014, he started night school at the Ventura College of Law’s while he worked his day job as a CFO. During his time in law school, Ben received awards for academic excellence in criminal law and procedure, legal writing, professional responsibility, and constitutional law. In 2018, he graduated as salutatorian of his class with concentrations in Business, Family, Criminal and Estate law. He earned his license to practice law in June 2018. Ben was in the 98th percentile in the country for his performance on the multi-state professional responsibility exam, which tests a lawyer’s understanding of ethical practice.
After a brief stint practicing immigration law, Ben joined LRMMT in February of 2019 to practice civil litigation. In addition to being a member of the California State Bar and the Central Coast District Court Bar, Ben is certified as a professional medical coder (CPC) with the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC).
Growing up in Ventura, Ben was a scholar athlete and team captain for Saint Bonaventure High School football team. He then achieved the same honors playing football at Claremont McKenna College. Following college, Ben and his wife, Beth, lived in Buenos Aires, Argentina and Santiago, Chile where they taught English and traveled throughout the continent. Ben speaks and writes proficiently in Spanish and speaks Portuguese conversationally. Ben and Beth have a daughter and a son and live in Ventura.
