Paul A. Miller

A fourth-generation Ventura County resident, Paul Miller has extensive experience in the areas of real estate, general business, partnerships, and corporations. Paul has handled family law matters since 1974 and has focused his practice exclusively on family law since 1992.

Paul is an AV-rated attorney, the highest rating possible from the only national rating service for attorneys. He has been selected to the 2015 list as a member of the Nation’s Top One Percent by The National Association of Distinguished Counsel. The NADC is an organization dedicated to promoting the highest standard of legal excellence. Its mission is to objectively recognize the attorneys who elevate the standards of the Bar and provide a benchmark for other lawyers to emulate. Members are vetted by a research team, selected by a blue ribbon panel of attorneys with podium status from independently neutral organizations, and approved by a judicial review board as exhibiting virtue in the practice of law. Due to the incredible selectivity of the appointment process, only the top one percent of attorneys in the United States are awarded membership in the NADC. This elite class of advocates consists of the finest leaders in the legal profession from across the nation.

Paul has also been named a “Super Lawyer” for 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015. Only 5 percent of the attorneys in Southern California are selected for this distinction based on independent research, peer nominations and peer evaluations.

He has served as a private judge in family law matters and is a charter member of the Collaborative Family Lawyers in Ventura County. This organization was formed in 2000 by 18 family law attorneys who are committed to resolving family law matters outside the adversarial court system. The collaborative law process provides clients with an opportunity to negotiate and reach settlements in a creative, dignified, civil, and productive manner–free of the coercion inherent to litigation–while combining the ability to reduce costs with the opportunity to maintain more control over the outcome.

Active in the community, Paul is a past chairman of St. John’s Hospital Humanitarians and has served on the board of trustees of St. Paul’s School and Oxnard Trade Club. He is a member of the Ventura County Trial Lawyers, the Ventura County Bar Association, and the Family Law Section of the Ventura County Bar Association.

Paul graduated from Loyola Marymount University and the University of San Diego Law School prior to beginning his practice in Ventura County in 1974. Paul served as the firm’s Managing Partner from 1992 through 2008. He and his wife, Lindy, have three children and live in Ventura.
